Behind The Dancers Hideout: Ulocking Confidence, Precision & Joy.
Watch this short video to learn why I created The Dancers Hideout - and how it’s helping dancers just like unlock smarter movement, deeper artistry, and more freedom on the floor.
My Early Years In Dance
I stepped into the world of dance when i just three years old. By five, i was already competing - growing up alongside my sister, a British Champion, and my younger brother, who was often my fiercest rival on the floor.
Dance became part of who i was, not just what i did. I trained in Ballroom, Latin, Modern Sequence, Classical Sequence, Street, Disco and Rock’n’Roll.
Some of my fondest memories are from the big annual showcases my first dance school hosted. Each year had a new theme - “Dancing Through The Years”, Disney, “Movie Magic” - where every student performed. These shows helped me develop not just steps, but confidence, stage presence, and the joy of performing.
As i grew and moved into the junior and youth division, competing nationally and internationally. I began training under Paul Beaton, who guided my open-level junior competitive years of dancing. And i later found myself travelling to Wolverhampton for lessons and training as a youth dancer in my earliest open-level years of dancing in the adult division.
But the road wasn’t easy. Partnerships shifted, training sometimes felt stagnant, and my instruction didn’t always give me the clarity i needed. At times, i worked and saved everything just to afford lessons, even sleeping in my car so i could train and teach the next day.
Those struggles, though, pushed me to search further - to Italy, London and Denmark - Learning from world champions and some of the best minds in dance.
Finding My Path As A Competitor.
From Teacher to Coach
In Italy, with Marco and Letizia, i learned something that shaped everything that came after:
The difference between a teacher and a coach.
A teacher provides knowledge, structure, and guidance.
A coach pushes you beyond your limits, fuels your confidence, and helps you find freedom on the floor.
For the first time, i had true coaches. And in turn, i discovered my passion for becoming one myself - not just teaching dancers, but coaching them to achieve more than they thought possible.
Over the years, my competitive journey has taken me across Europe and the UK, giving me experiences i now pass on to my students:
• Professional Ballroom European Championship Semi-Finalist.
• Professional Ballroom National Championship Semi-Finalist.
• Amateur Ballroom North Of England Championship Semi-Finalist.
• Top 3 National Amateur Modern Sequence Championships.
• Top 5 Amateur 10-Dance ranking in the UK.
• Commonwealth Games winner for Ballroom & Latin - Junior Division.
• Recognised Affiliate of the UKA (United Kingdom Alliance for Dance).
• Former Director Of DanceSportNI.
My Competitive Achievements.
The Dancers Hideout is the result of everything i’ve lived, studied, and taught in dance.
I created it because i know the struggles dancers face: confusing instruction, generic feedback, and training that doesn’t always help you feel freer, smarter, or more confident.
My mission is simple:
To give dancers - whether social, competitive, or aspiring teachers - the tools, structure, and coaching they need to thrive.
Here you’ll find a space to refine your technique, elevate your artistry, and rediscover the joy of movement.
